Off-season Update: May 3, 2012
We are now in the fifth week of our 2012 off season!
During the off season so far, we have dissemble robots from past years games and organized the pit area so that we have a safe work area for the build season.
We are trying to fix up our team mascot, Volty, so that he will be able to attend FIRST Robotics competitions, regionals, and local events, such as the Eustis Street Fest, to get parents and children into learning about science, technology, and robotics.
We would like to invite students in high school to get involved in FIRST robotics teams, either with our team or a team near them.
Off Season: 2012
It has been a great year of competition and we would like to congratulate and thank all the other robotics teams for a great 2012 season. We are looking forward to next years competition.
Even though it is the off season, we participate in many fun activities, ranging from improving workshop and meeting area to participating in activities such as laser tag or watching movies. We have already started constructing a new shelf so that we can better organize our work area for next year.
We are always looking for new members! If you would like to join us during our off season activities, please stop in during our regular Thursday meetings at our club house from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
Hope to see you there.
Last Full Day of Build Season!
Today is not only President’s Day, It is also the last full day of robot building for FIRST Team 1557! We are putting Lexan around parts of our robot frame now, which is used to protect the pneumatics and electrical board during game play at the Orlando Regional and South Florida Regional Competitions. Later today we will be weighing the robot, then running it and all it’s components, like the shooter, at Mt. Dora Bible School. We can’t wait to see all the other teams at Competition!
